PIGEONS

Common in cities and suburban communities, pigeons roost on window ledges, rooftops, and bridges, which are perfect substitutes for the natural cliff ledges the birds typically use as nesting sites and shelter. Even if you like birds and animals, you probably aren’t keen on a family of pigeons wreaking havoc around your home, apartment building or business. Pigeons are in-discriminant feeders and eat any available food source, from grains and seeds to human waste and handouts. Pigeon droppings are actually pretty unhealthy. It will make you shutter when you consider the multitude of pathogens and diseases that may be present in pigeon poop.

Pigeons can also carry mites and lice. Yuck. (Hey, at least they can’t carry fleas.) Pigeon problems are obvious – including the constant droppings left behind, and loud cooing sounds that never rest that can disturb your sleep early in the morning. Fortunately, there are a variety of options for removing pigeons that are easy and humane.

WE DO IT ALL, LET ON THE FLY HELP!

On The Fly Services, Inc. provides bird exclusion services for commercial and residential structures. We use humane exclusion techniques to keep the Birds from coming back.
Control and exclusion of pigeons on the exterior surfaces of buildings often requires considerably more effort. The most effective and permanent methods of control involve structural modifications which either physically exclude pigeons from the preferred surface, or make it difficult for the birds to rest comfortably on the exposed building surfaces. Physical exclusion can be accomplished by installing weather resistant netting, wire screening, sheet metal, or other materials, in a manner that will restrict access to the roosting sites. A grid of heavy gauge monofilament line spaced at six-inch intervals may also be used to create a fence that will interfere with the birds’ normal flight pattern to the roosting area.
One of the most effective, although expensive methods for preventing roosting birds is the use of a commercially available bird barrier system, consisting of a series of metal prongs or porcupine wires along a metal base that can be attached to a horizontal roosting surface. The needle-like strips of stainless steel act as a prickling fence to exclude birds permanently without harm.

REPELLENTS

A sticky substance applied with a caulk gun where birds roost. Results are immediate!!! Keep birds off their normal roosting areas with an application of bird gel, a liquid and sure-fire, non-toxic, non-lethal bird repellent. Harmless to metal structures, sealed masonry and ornamental metals, Bird-Proof can protect your property from messy bird deposits for up to a full year or longer with one thorough application.
Bird-gel works in any weather, indoors or outdoors, literally anywhere: on water tanks, trees, shrubbery, shipping docks and railroad sidings, yards, parking lots, etc.
With one application of Bird-gel you'll drive off the birds that are infesting your premises now and prevent new birds from taking over.

SPIKES

Dense, Transparent Needle Strips, block pest birds from their "landing strips" very effective but expensive "keep off" sign you can post. Birds instinctively fly to "landing strips" such as roof ledges, windowsills, building projections, signs, statues, trusses and beams. Now you can keep them from landing on your property permanently!

NETTING

Netting is the most efficient and effective method to prevent birds from entering parking garages, airline hangers, warehouses, loading docks, attics, eves, courtyards and other exposed enclosures. Netting is manufactured from knotted polyethylene twine, is flame resistant, and very strong. When installed, netting is virtually invisible.

BIRD SLIDES

Bird slides protect the ledges of buildings without using invasive methods that can leave damage to your home. Bird slides detour birds from resting, nesting or even landing on ledges because the birds simply can not get a grip and slide right off. Bird slides can be primed and painted to match the exterior of your home.

BIRD SHOCK STRIPS

Bird shock strips are electric bird repellent system that deters birds of most species from landing, roosting or loafing on the ledges of your structure. Bird shock strips are not highly visible, and successfully deters birds from returning to the treated areas.

BIRD NEST EXCLUSION

Although time-consuming and unpleasant, removing nests will help depress populations. Nest destruction must be followed by Bird-proofing the structure to achieve maximum population control.

ARE BATS A PROBLEM?

BAT EXCLUSION

Bats are considered to be beneficial animals but, in certain situations however, bats pose a threat to human health. Histoplasmosis is a disease associated with bat guano and bird droppings. When droppings accumulate, a fungus (Histoplasma capsulatum) can grow and produce spores that can cause histoplasmosis (lung infection) when inhaled. If you have a bat control problem, we inspect every inch of your home and find all the exit and entry points causing your bat concern. We offer a complete bat and pigeon control inspection and we provide full service bat and pigeon control for the Coachella Valley.
